Tips for Better Logging
Be consistent with wet vs dry weights. Pick one and stick with it across all sessions. Dry weight is more useful for comparison since wet hash varies wildly in moisture content. Weigh your hash after drying for the most accurate records.
Log every wash, even bad ones. A session that yielded poorly teaches you something. Was the material old? Did you over-agitate?
Was the water too warm? Your notes on failed sessions are often more valuable than notes on successful ones.
Track water temperature. A $10 kitchen thermometer from Dollarama is enough. Write the starting and ending water temp in your notes. You'll start to see patterns — your best yields probably correlate with colder water throughout the wash.
Not sure what yields to expect? The yield calculator gives you a baseline to compare against. If your actual yields are consistently below the calculator's estimate, check your agitation technique and ice management.
